The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar feels like slipping into a familiar corner of the neighborhood where time slows just enough to savor a quiet moment. Tucked away on Annette Street, this espresso bar is a serene pause amid Toronto’s lively pulse—a place where rustic warmth meets a subtly modern edge. The space welcomes you with soft light filtering through large windows, casting a gentle glow on the mix of cozy nooks and communal tables. There’s a quiet hum of conversation threaded with the comforting aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and baked goods.
The pace here is unhurried, inviting visitors to settle in with a book, catch up with a friend, or simply watch the world drift by outside. The thoughtful layout offers plenty of seating without feeling crowded—a rare luxury in cafes that successfully balance a laid-back vibe with a steady flow of espresso orders. Artful touches throughout the interior hint at a creative spirit, blending post-industrial charm with minimalist details that never distract but instead invite you to lean in and linger.
Sipping a latte or an Americano here feels like a small celebration of simple pleasures. Whether it’s the subtle spice of a chai latte on a chilly afternoon or the fresh brightness of an iced matcha on sunny days, each cup reveals a mindful attention to balance and flavor. Stationed near the window, it’s easy to lose track of time while nibbling on a flaky croissant or a salted chocolate chip cookie, both of which perfectly complement the warmth of the drinks.
Beyond just coffee, The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar offers a quietly curated rhythm of the day—from bright mornings with gently brewed teas to cozy afternoons graced by seasonal specialties like a caramel-touched cocoa or a spicy red mocha latte. There’s a care in every detail, from the clean, well-kept restrooms to the friendly staff who move efficiently yet never hurry the moment.
In its essence, The Good Neighbour feels like more than a stop for your daily caffeine fix. It’s the kind of place where the clink of ceramic cups and the murmurs of fellow guests blend into an understated soundtrack of community. A spot that invites locals and visitors alike to pause, savor, and maybe, just maybe, find a slice of comfort that lingers long after the last sip.

Super adorable little place with an amazing atmosphere and delicious lattes! Plenty of seating for a small place, and the window seats are super cute! The pastries looked delicious though I didn't have one, and the selection of bottled beverages is nice!

This cafe is every hipster's dream! Super cool interior with a post-industrial/slightly minimalistic vibe and interesting art. I tried their almond croissant and pumpkin spice latte - soooo good! and there are two washrooms not one! I was there weekday before lunch time, and I was able to find a place to sit (sometimes quite a challenge in such chill places) and not all tables were occupied by laptops lol. I will come back again for sure!

I absolutely love this cafe. The space is big and airy with lots of available seating. The coffee is good, but I highly recommend the chai latte- hot or iced. I also really love the tea - the jasmine green tea and the sencha are both really lovely. The staff are nice and they keep the washroom clean. In the summer they have a big covered patio that’s great to sit at.

Happened across this lovely cafe on a rainy Saturday, had a lovely cappuccino. Atmosphere was rustic and cozy. The good neighbour has become our favourite local cafe—their coffee is always delicious

Cute little shop with such good vibes. They had an iced coconut latte as a feature when I went so I had to try. It was insanely good! I also tried my friends iced matcha latte and for someone who doesn't love matcha, I finished my drink and immediately ordered an iced matcha latte. It was so refreshing and creamy. The staff were also super fast with the drinks!

Another good cafe to add to my The Good Espresso list. Nice staff, good atmosphere, possibility to sit on the outdoor patio, the neighborhood is not very busy what is super good too. The espresso tasted great, too bad I couldn't try anything else as I arrived quite close to closing time.

This coffee shop is spotless and inviting. The staff is friendly and polite, making every visit a pleasure. The snacks are well-prepared, and they offer a nice selection of sandwiches and salads. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The patio is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy your coffee. I absolutely love this place. Five stars!
